Proud Weichai Employees Win Both National and Provincial Awards

　　On April 28, the celebration of the May 1st International Labor Day and the National May 1st Labor Award and the National Worker Pioneer Commendation Conference was held in Beijing. Tang Haiwei, a senior technician of Weichai, won the "National May 1st Labor Medal". On the same day, Weichai Power's over 50% high thermal efficiency diesel engine development team was awarded the "Shandong Worker Pioneer" by the Shandong Federation of Trade Unions.

　　Over the years, "Shandong Master Craftsman" Tang Haiwei has been diligently striving to challenge technical peaks, achieving a number of "Chinese breakthroughs" in engine dynamic measurement, breaking the technical barriers between Weichai and foreign companies. The project "Research and Application of Dynamic Measurement Technology of High-temperature Moving Parts of Internal Combustion Engines" completed by his innovation team won the first prize of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Progress Award. This is the only award-winning project in the past four years by frontline workers, and was evaluated as "at an international advanced level" by the Chinese Society of Internal Combustion Engines.

　　Weichai Power's over 50% high thermal efficiency diesel engine development team is a team composed of R&D elites born in the 1980s and 1990s. They challenged the world-class problem: thermal efficiency of 50%, and more than 120 R&D personnel went forward one after another in the upsurge of climbing the peak of science and technology. With percentage of 0.01 in increase each time, the scale of global thermal efficiency limit increased from 46% to 50.23% and to 51.09%. It created a similar miracle to running 100 meters in less than 11 seconds and then in less than 10 seconds for the first time in human history. This refreshed the global thermal efficiency record of internal combustion engines twice, and effectively improved China's right to speak in the field of internal combustion engines in the world.
