On September 17, the IAA TRANSPORTATION 2024, the largest and most influential global event in the industry, officially opened in Hanover, Germany. At the exhibition, Weichai proudly presented a range of cutting-edge products, including a 53% thermal efficiency diesel engine meeting Euro VII standards, the WP14T hybrid powertrain, the WP15 flexible fuel internal combustion engine platform, and a 300kW hydrogen fuel cell power system. These high-tech solutions span multiple technological paths, showcasing Weichai’s robust capabilities in both traditional and new energy power fields on the global stage.
The 53% thermal efficiency diesel engine, compliant with Euro VII emission standards, features advanced technologies such as high-efficiency combustion with low heat transfer, high-efficiency turbocharging, ultra-high-pressure fuel injection, low friction loss, and zonal lubrication. This engine is both economical and energy-saving. Its modular design ensures over 97% parts commonality between the H/T series engines. After extensive market validation, the engine boasts a low failure rate, high reliability, and a B10 lifespan of up to 1.8 million kilometers.
The Weichai WP14T hybrid powertrain features a dual planetary gear structure for multi-power coupling output, eliminating the need for a clutch and ensuring uninterrupted power during gear shifts. The dual-motor braking system offers higher energy recovery efficiency, with fuel savings of up to 25% under regulatory conditions. The system intelligently switches operating modes based on speed and driving scenarios to balance power and fuel efficiency.
The WP15 flexible fuel internal combustion engine platform, based on an advanced design concept, can achieve multi-fuel direct injection by modifying only a few components and software controls. A combination of multiple sensor monitoring strategies ensures reliable control of combustion, exhaust, and the crankcase. In this era of carbon reduction, the engine’s emissions fully comply with the EU’s zero-carbon standards.
The 300kW hydrogen fuel cell power system is designed primarily for long-haul transportation on highways by heavy-duty trucks. Its high-precision active and passive hydrogen circulation and wide-range flow supply technology achieve a peak efficiency of over 63%. The system also incorporates intelligent control and online health management, having passed rigorous reliability testing with a lifespan exceeding 30,000 hours. Additional features, such as low-temperature self-heating and dynamic water-thermal management, along with intelligent purging strategies, enable cold starts at temperatures as low as -35℃.

Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile’s X6000 series attracted significant interest with its sleek design and high-end configurations. As a masterpiece of Chinese heavy-duty truck manufacturing, the X6000 boasts a maximum power output of 840 horsepower, setting a new record for domestic heavy-duty trucks. The 630-horsepower natural gas model also excels in fuel efficiency, positioning it as a leader in the industry and showcasing the exceptional performance of the group’s golden powertrain. It stands as a benchmark for high-end quality in the industry.
The AsiaStar C12E battery electric bus, designed specifically for urban routes in Northern Europe, features a trendy European-style boxy design, electronic rearview mirrors, and ISA and LAW electronic safety systems. The bus has already passed EU certification, demonstrating its compliance with stringent regional standards.
