On October 12, Man Shengang, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, visited Weichai Power's Shanghai Operation Center and R&D Center to conduct research, meet with frontline employees, and engage in discussions with the management team.

The Weichai Power Shanghai Operation Center serves as a critical hub for overseeing Weichai’s domestic subsidiaries, providing them with management services and intellectual support for their growth. During his visit, Man Shengang received a detailed briefing on the center’s functional positioning, control model, corporate governance, organizational structure, and human resources. He emphasized that since its establishment, the Weichai Power Shanghai Operation Center has actively explored parent-subsidiary management models, playing an irreplaceable role. He stressed the need to capitalize on Shanghai’s unique geographic advantages, maintain a goal-oriented approach, highlight the center’s distinctive characteristics, and continue driving innovation. The center should maximize the benefits of talent concentration, resource integration, and business synergy. He also underscored the importance of seamlessly integrating management and service functions, clarifying responsibilities, focusing on key aspects, streamlining collaboration mechanisms, and adopting tailored, targeted approaches for different enterprises. He highlighted the need for the customized strategies—one company, one strategy; one industry, one strategy; one region, one strategy—enabling the subsidiaries to thrive through efficient guidance, promotion, and support. Furthermore, he called for the development of a highly professional and capable talent team, benchmarked against international standards, aligned with contemporary trends, and focused on industrial transformation, thereby continuously enhancing organizational and talent support capabilities.

Weichai Power's Shanghai R&D Center is primarily responsible for planning, developing, and testing new energy commercial vehicle products. Man Shengang emphasized that the center should capitalize on Shanghai's leading position in talent and innovation to build a world-class, high-level research team. He encouraged a focus on practicality and effectiveness, the transformation of technological achievements, and the integration of industry, academia, and research to contribute products, processes, standards, and patents that support the group's high-quality development in the commercial vehicle sector.
