The globally renowned construction machinery event, bauma CHINA 2024, opened grandly on November 26 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Shandong Heavy Industry showcased its two major construction machinery brands, Shantui and Lovol Heavy Industry, alongside global power systems leader Weichai, presenting an impressive lineup of integrated construction solutions and its unique “golden core” power system. A series of new products and technologies made their debut, highlighting Shandong Heavy Industry's cutting-edge capabilities in high-end, intelligent, and green construction machinery development. Man Shengang, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, led the team on a tour of the exhibition and participated in the new product launch event. The event was attended by Ma Changhai, Party Committee Member and Vice General Manager of the Group, Liu Huisheng, Vice General Manager, as well as domestic and international partners and customer representatives.

Shantui Launches Five Integrated Construction Solutions

Shantui Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., leveraging the industrial chain and global R&D strengths of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, continues to push the boundaries of intelligent and electric technologies. With industry-leading innovations and advanced manufacturing expertise, Shantui has expanded its product portfolio to address diverse construction scenarios and developed a proprietary intelligent construction management platform, achieving a transformative development model. At the launch event for its integrated construction solutions, Shantui unveiled five groundbreaking solutions—Mining Integration, New Energy Integration, Road Integration, Intelligent Construction Integration, and Small Equipment Integration—along with a series of new products. These offerings redefine the standards for integrated construction, simplifying operations and creating greater value for customers.

In the Mining Integration zone, Shantui showcased its flagship products: The SE2000LCW Excavator, offering 12% more power than comparable models.The TEH160 Electric Wheel Dump Truck, with over 15% improvements in climbing and operational efficiency. The DH80-C6 Bulldozer, delivering a total power of 570 kW. The L76-G Loader, consuming 17% less fuel than competitors. The SG27-G MN Motor Grader, designed for heavy-duty mining applications, reducing annual operating costs by over 10%.These flagship products highlight Shantui's deep expertise in mining machinery.

Accelerating the transition to new energy, Shantui’s technological innovations continue to lead the industry: The LE60-X5 Pure Electric Loader can operate continuously for 6–10 hours. The DE26-X3 Pure Electric Bulldozer boasts over a 10% improvement in operational efficiency. The SE215EI Pure Electric Excavator charges in less than 1.5 hours. The RE22-X Pure Electric Road Roller delivers a maximum vibration force of 410 kN. The Road Integration and Small Equipment Integration solutions have undergone comprehensive upgrades, building on Shantui’s 70+ years of technological expertise. Products like the SM200M-G Milling Machine, SPS45-G Paver, CD410-Z35 Pure Electric Mixer Truck, SE17SR Excavator, and BL75-C SD Backhoe Loader feature enhanced aesthetics and performance, offering higher operational efficiency, lower fuel consumption, and significantly improved safety and comfort.

Lovol Heavy Industry: Technology-Driven Innovation for a New Era

As part of the Weichai Group, Lovol Heavy Industry has actively integrated the Group’s global industrial resources to launch a series of hydraulic powertrain products, hybrid solutions, and pure electric products. Extending its reach into both large-scale and compact equipment, Lovol continues to expand its offerings in mining excavators, high-tonnage loaders, wide-body mining trucks, and backhoe loaders. This enriched product portfolio establishes a differentiated competitive advantage with features of "low fuel consumption and high efficiency".

In the exhibition zone, Lovol unveiled several cutting-edge products: The 150-ton Cold Climate Edition Powertrain Mining Excavator, tailored for extreme environments. The Newly Developed 130-ton Autonomous Wide-Body Mining Truck, offering unparalleled efficiency and safety. The upgraded 70-ton “Superstar” Mining Excavator FR750F and the High-Tonnage Loader FL976K, delivering intelligent and efficient integrated mining solutions. The debut of the 7-ton Hybrid Loader FL978K-H, marking a breakthrough in high-tonnage new energy loader technology.

Lovol Heavy Industry is also aggressively expanding into overseas markets. At the exhibition, it showcased customized products designed for international clients, including the FB888H-HST Hydrostatic Backhoe Loader, the 48-ton Wheeled Material Handler FW480F-RG, and the 20-ton Wheeled Excavator FW215F, catering to diverse customer needs. For the European market, Lovol introduced several Euro V emission-compliant products, accelerating its globalization efforts and enhancing its global presence.

Weichai: 120-400 Ton Electric Drive Mining Truck Powertrain

Global Launch of New Product

At this exhibition, Weichai, together with its subsidiaries Fast Gear and Zhuzhou Gear, brought a full range of power solutions for construction machinery. At the event, Man Shengang unveiled China’s first 120-400 ton electric drive mining truck powertrain. The product uses an engine to drive the main generator, converting mechanical energy into electricity that is directly transmitted to wheel-edge motors to power the wheels. The Weichai electric drive mining truck powertrain is adaptable to various complex road conditions, with thermal management capable of handling extreme high-cold and high-heat environments. Its modular design reduces maintenance costs, extends major overhaul cycles to 20,000–30,000 hours, and decreases fuel consumption by 8-12% compared to competitors. Additionally, it offers superior vibration and noise performance, setting a new benchmark for electric drive mining truck powertrain solutions.

Weichai showcased its full range of construction machinery power products, including the WP3.6N hydraulic powertrain for wheeled excavators, WP4.6N engine for excavators, WP14T hydraulic powertrain for excavators, 8M33 engine for excavators, WP10.5H/10H engines for loaders, WP15H engine for mining trucks, 16M33 mining truck power unit, power packs for new energy loaders, the WP14T mining truck engine with new energy motor and battery, and new energy forklift batteries. This diverse powertrain lineup highlighted Weichai's technological leadership in both traditional and new energy power fields.

Fast Gear presented six products at the exhibition, including the three-speed pure electric transmission with retarder for mining trucks, the power shift transmission for off-road tire cranes, and AT automatic transmissions. Among these, three are purely electric, fully showcasing Fast Gear’s strong capabilities in independent forward-facing R&D and its deep technological expertise.

Zhuzhou Gear showcased its flagship products, including the electric slewing system and electric pump drive system for new energy excavators, the electric transmission system for new energy loaders, and the electric AMT transmission for new energy mining trucks. These offerings demonstrated Zhuzhou Gear’s strength in leading the trends toward high integration, modularization, and lightweight design in new energy construction machinery drive systems.
