Fighting in Q4,

Weichai has expedited the application of its high-end marine engine products of the M series and WH series, and good news from the market came one after another, boosting the energy conservation, emission reduction of ships and the development of green shipping.

The Weichai WH20 micro-injection ignition gas engine has contributed to the high-quality development of green shipping in the Yangtze River Basin.

Recently, Changhang Group and Weichai Group jointly convened a training and exchange meeting on the WH20 micro-injection ignition LNG engine in Chongqing. The two sides will keep working together to promote technological innovation and market application in the field of clean energy ship engine, and contribute to the sustainable development of the Yangtze River shipping industry.

As the only single-fuel gas engine that has passed CCS accreditation and matches 10,000-ton-level ships on the Yangtze River, the WH20 micro-injection ignition LNG engine has been verified on real ships. It is of reliable quality, with a total running time of over 11,000 hours. Relative to traditional fuel engines, the WH20 micro-injection ignition LNG engine helps save more than 20% of fuel costs, making it win high recognition from customers.

The new-generation Weichai 16WH17 marine engine made a stunning appearance.

Recently, Weichai's 8M21, 12M33, and 16WH17 marine engine products made a grand appearance at the Guangzhou International Maritime Expo-China (INMEX-China). It’s worth saying that at INMEX-China, the new-generation Weichai 16WH17 marine engine features electronically-controlled high-pressure common rail technology, and boasts high reliability, durability, strong power, energy conservation, environmental protection, and intelligent networking, which drew wide attention from visitors.

The 16WH17 marine engine, with power ranging from 1760 kW to 2353 kW, is of high power, high explosion pressure, and high reliability. For emissions, it complies with the regulatory requirements of China II and IMO Tier II, available for upgrading to IMO Tier III.

Relying on the Weichai Smart Cloud Platform, the product enables intelligent fleet management and improves operational efficiency.

It helps achieve the integrated control over equipment such as engine, gearbox, and propeller, and provides total solutions, so that the product can be extensively applied in high-speed passenger ships, engineering ships, and the power generation market.

Serving the Strategy of Building A Strong Transportation Country

Yunnan Province’s first oil-electric dual-power Type I RO-RO passenger ship was successfully launched.

In the Guanyinyan Reservoir area within the upper reaches of the Jinsha River in Yongsheng County, Yunnan Province, the "Yunnan Jiaotou 2018", as the province’s first oil-electric dual-power Type I ro-ro passenger ship, was successfully launched in the presence of numerous people.

The ship is driven by oil and electricity, and equipped with dual engines, dual propellers, and dual rudders. It mainly serves water freight transportation in the Guanyinyan Reservoir area, also available for tourism and sightseeing. For the main engine, the ship is equipped with two sets of 735 kW Weichai 8WH17 marine engines. For the auxiliary engine, two sets of 250 kW Weichai marine generator sets are installed. Besides that, the ship is equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries with a total capacity of 3,135 kWh, strongly ensuring its long-distance and stable operation.
