Ensuring safety: Shandong Heavy Industry Group's "first lesson" for work commencement

On February 5, the first working day after the Spring Festival, in order to thoroughly implement the work arrangements of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Shandong Province regarding workplace safety, and strictly follow the spirit of the Notice of the Provincial Work Safety Commission Office on Organizing the "First Lesson" for Work Commencement to Strengthen Safety Precautions During the Resumption of Production, Shandong Heavy Industry Group organized and conducted the "first lesson" for work commencement. The aim was to further enhance workplace safety awareness, strengthen the implementation of workplace safety responsibility, firmly guard the "safety gate" for the resumption of production, and lay a solid foundation for workplace safety throughout the year. Wang Zhijian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee, General Manager, and Director of the Safety Committee of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, delivered the keynote lecture.

The meeting conveyed and studied the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding the 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Dingri County, Xigaze City, Tibet, and other important expositions on workplace safety. It also communicated the relevant spirit of the Provincial Emergency Management Work Conference and the plenary (expanded) meeting of the Provincial Government Work Safety Committee. The meeting conducted an in-depth analysis of the workplace safety situation both nationwide and within the province, examined the lessons learned from workplace safety accidents, sounded the alarm for all employees on safety, and reinforced the mindset that "there are no trivial matters in safety, and all matters must be taken seriously."

Wang Zhijian emphasized the need to strengthen organizational leadership. Leaders and cadres at all levels must firmly shoulder and grasp the responsibility for workplace safety, strictly implement the principle of "three supervisions and three musts," and take workplace safety work seriously and meticulously with a constant sense of responsibility that "one cannot be at ease at any time." It is necessary to tighten and solidify responsibilities, fully implement the workplace safety responsibility system for all staff, sign workplace safety responsibility agreements at all levels, clarify the specific responsibilities of each unit and department, and create a good atmosphere where everyone cares about and participates in workplace safety. Focus should be placed on key tasks, and all workplace safety work should be carried out solidly according to the Group's safety management requirements for 2025. Efforts should be made to strengthen safety education and training, as well as emergency drills, to enhance everyone's awareness of risk, bottom-line consciousness, and sense of responsibility.

During the meeting, attendees were also collectively organized to watch safety warning videos titled “Life Is of Paramount Importance” and "Red Line," with the aim of educating and motivating all staff to effectively enhance their safety awareness, resolutely overcome indifference towards safety and lax attitudes, and devote themselves to various current tasks with greater enthusiasm, higher morale, and a more pragmatic approach.
