Modular design
- The engines have 30% (or more) fewer parts than other engines compared to similar products. Fuel filter module integrates coarse filter and fine filter into one unit.
- Oil filter module integrates oil filter, oil cooler, rotary filter, and water filter into one unit.
- Integral cylinder head of compact design, incorporating intake pipe.
Light-weighted design
- Engine weight only 815kg (Euro V). Due to enormous CAE analysis capability, high strength and reliability are ensured with design optimized.
- A good many parts such as flywheel housing, water pump, oil sump, rocker arm cover, and intake pipe are made of plastic or aluminum alloy.
Intellectual control
- ECU is independently developed by Weichai, notable for rapid response. High-accuracy air control system.
- Multi-tier control strategy covering all operation conditions.
Excellent NVH performances
- One-meter-distant noise level at rated power is less than 96dB(A), which is 2-3dB(A) lower than that of competing products. Use drum-shaped engine body skirt, with engine body strength increased, vibration dampened and noise greatly reduced.
- In the rear-mounted gear chamber, high-accuracy gears and anti-gear gears operate smoothly further reducing mechanical noise.
- Multiple times injection technology greatly reduces combustion noise.
Ultra-low fuel consumption
- Minimum fuel consumption 185g/kW•h. Fuel consumption under general operation conditions is 3%-5% lower than that of competing products.
- Low engine speed range for economical fuel consumption covers engine speed 950-1,450 r/min under general operation conditions of buses.
More powerful
- With sufficient power ensured, smaller speed ratio rear axle can be selected to further reduce fuel consumption.
High adaptability
- No power loss up to altitude 2,800 meters. Super low power loss under general operation conditions up to altitude 4,500 meters.
- No start failure with ambient temperature below -20°C.
